I'm interested hear what kinds of routines people have after a marathon. I don't have a lot of experience but have been working on my own after race plan.
The day after I go out for 2 miles, an easy a walk/jog. I start with a slow (read: 12 min/mi+) jog for a few minutes and then rotate between walking and jogging. After that I'll come home and go through a decent stretching routine. I'll rest for the next few days; no running, no cross training and no registering for races. After that I'll ease back in and take 2 or 3 weeks or easy running with only one workout a week. By the fourth week I'll aim to be easily running 30/40mpw with two workouts. I'll stay there until I have a new race to train for.
