Who?
Bill D will run a 2:36. That guy has no problem in the pain cave.
Maybe 25%? Interesting quote from the article:
"He said in 2003 he ran a 37km Colorado road race (three miles shy of a marathon) over a mountain in 2 hours, 17 minutes, but said he was in better running shape then."
If that time / distance is legit, he was probably closer to 2:30 shape then, but that was 11 years ago and this is his first actual marathon.
Best guess: he goes out in 1:17, comes back in 1:25 in this marathon, then does another few marathons over the next couple of years, getting at least one under 2:35.
Billy D is a monster. In 2012 I raced him in a long distance mountain bike race. Pretty impressive he is a world class biathlete, good distance runner, and semi pro/cat 1 level mountain biker.
All of this is nonsense wrote:

He is a Nordic Combined skier, not a biathlete.
Result was 2:33:05 after splitting 1:15:05 at the half.
Glad somebody dusted this off. Bill D deserves props after hitting that time. Dude's a beast.
