Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a good training log or maybe someone could shed some light/their knowledge of running/racing/training with me.
First off I'm a 6'6" 25 year old male who was once 330 lbs. I currently weigh 200 lbs and just finished my first marathon on Sunday (3:49).
PRs for race distances are...
800: 2:54
Mile: 5:59
5k: 20:55
10K: 46:09
Half: 1:39:30
Full: 3:49:16
I ran the 3:49 marathon on about 30-35 miles a week and obviously want to improve. I'm really REALLY wanting to go sub 20 in the 5k before January 2015. I'm getting in striking distance. Before I started increasing my mileage for the full, I was running maybe 100 miles a month. I peaked at 44 miles one week for the marathon and would like to try and increase my mileage but with my size and weight it's difficult. Most elite runners will tell me I need to lose weight. Once you lose 130 lbs.. it's very difficult to keep dropping, I imagine I would have to run 70 miles a week to really drop any more weight. I hope someone can relate with me about being a novice runner.. I've been running for 3 years and truly believe I can be pretty good for having no athletic background.
Help me out... I'm willing to give 110% to this.
