Spikes are not an option
I'm a heavier runner with a neutral gait. I usually run in 3-4mm drop trainers.
I've been told to check out NB MRC5000 and Mizuno Universe 5.
Any other suggestions would be highly appreciated.

As far as flats go I love the Nike Zoom Streak Lt 2's they have a 4mm drop and feel great.

why no spikes? if you wear the nb 5000s you may as well have spikes b/c they're basically a 5k/10k track spike without the spikes.
