With the cowboys keeping a low profile (apart from the jamboree) I have a feeling they are dark horses to shine at the NCAAs. Anyone agree? Who are you're favourites now...

I personally think Colorado is the clear favorite (as I am sure we all think that), but the race for second is wide open. Oregon ran well today, while Syracuse dominated in Wisconsin, but OSU and a few others can step up big and grab second on the day. For example, if Tyler Byrne can jump up and start running with Futsum, McElroy and Hoover, like he should, NAU has a top four who can compete with nearly anyone. Have one of their young guys step up (where is Andy Trouard?) and they could very well get second. OSU has the talent up top and enough depth to grab second, so I wouldn't necessarily call them a darkhorse.
Wonder if they will run hard at Big 12s - that will be our best indicator I suppose. Thanks for the input.
not a dark horse. They are one of the favorites. They will be in the top 5 without a doubt. Anyone who doesn't believe that does not understand the sport in this country.
Tyler Byrne was way back mid-race and gained maybe 30-50 places to finish about 100th. Did he fall or did something else go wrong early? His finish was good for someone in the 100th range, but only about what you would expect for someone finishing in the 30-60 range, which is where you would have expected him to be.
Many possible explanations, some more positive for final results at NCAA than others. Anyone know anything specific?
Oregon State definitely is a dark horse.
Ohio State is as well.
From what I've seen I would think that the teams are separated as:
Colorado
OSU/Oregon
A bunch of teams
But nationals never goes quite as expected, especially in those 3/4 spots.
