This issue has been going on for over 2 years and I can't seem to completely fix the problem. It's off and on at random so I feel like the cause would have to be something biological rather than over training (I can say with certainty, this is not the issue).
But, let me get to the problem itself. I can't run a race without having incredibly intense heavy quads plaguing me during the second half or at least last 1k of a race (ill just use 5k as my example). This is not your typical late race fatigue, it is something that you struggle to keep walking with, because the lactic acid feels like it has literally incinerated every muscle in your quads/hamstrings and I can barely move my legs. It's frustrating because my respiration will be that of an easy run but the effort to keep my legs moving is so tough that I can't even elevate my heart rate to where it should be during a race.
This problem does not only occur in the races though, I get it to a certain degree in workouts of course as well as my easy runs (much less intense of course).
I don't know what the deal is. No one else deals with this problem as much as I do it seems.. and I haven't always had it which is the weird part. I'm wondering if I could be defficient in some kind of vitamin or something along those lines but I don't know what kind of doctor I would go to about this.
