When do you think Boston will be full this year?
Do you think everyone with the minimum qualifying time will get in during the September entry periods?
Will the interest in running this year really drop off compared to last year?

With 30k spots, expect runners that meet the qualifying time by 90 seconds to get in.
I don't work for the BAA, but am a perennial runner of this race.
I think there are about 24000 spots for people to qualify.
If you're a serious runner and can easily run under 3 hours does it even matter? Just train hard and run fast and you don't have to worry right?

At age 61, I can no longer "easily" break 3 hours. But I've been running marathons since 1978, and by your definition I am NOT a "serious runner"? That's pretty funny.

Well I mean for a young guy. At 61, you'll be able to run the equivalent of it for your age. The BQ for your age is 3:55, 8:58 pace. If you've been running since 1978, even at 61 3:55 should be a cake walk.
To get back on track, from what I've been reading, sounds like the poster above who said 90 seconds under is right on track.
Will it reopen on 9/22? My marathon is on 9/21 hopin to slide in so I don't have to wait til 2016..
Never, just fire off a bib with your color printer. There were no punishments for last year, so it's all good.

MY marathon? You own a marathon?. Cool dude.
Why do some [hobby-jogger] folks use this term. They are just going to run a race but speak like they own it.
90 sec is very close to what it was last year and there are more spots for qualifiers. There is also less demand. Best guess is that it remains open well after the initial two-week window. But I am not a perennial runner of the race.
Hobby J has it almost right...
with increased BQ slots and less demand, it most likely will not fill next week.
how soon after? good question.. i doubt it will make it to the date of the Chicago Marathon
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
