I picked up running about 3 1/2 months ago after I quit smoking. I started off with a meager 10 or so miles/week(mostly hill/max incline kind of stuff), but have transitioned to flat running and about 30 or so miles/week. Physically I feel fine, but would it be a good or bad idea to adding more and more miles in the following weeks/months. I'm currently aiming to run in the Chicago marathon next year. But, in a more general sense, I'm just trying to progressively get faster and be able to run longer. Thanks for any advice about this.
