Hey guys I've been trying to get into the process of doing more writings on cross country and I'm thinking of starting a blog to bring more of the big time college sport feel to Cross Country. I think doing previews of the conferences and making predictions could be pretty cool. Anyways if you guys like this, I can make more of them for other conferences. Okay cool so here we go:
Colorado- the defending champs and for good reason, they ran well last year, the big thing is going to see if they can keep the magic rolling. Speaking of Colorado and magic, how is it that so many people claim to have read running with the buffaloes? Seriously if everyone who says they read it actually did, it'd outsell Harry potter IMO
Stanford- you ask me these guys are going to take a big step back. Stanford's football team is really popular right now and I don't know about you but when I watch college football, I tend to just give up on the rest of my day so one could only assume that the cardinal are not running as much as they need to.
Washington- first things first, they're not the Washington women. That's all I know about the Washington men's team tbh.
Arizona State- whoa boy, you wanna talk about a team that's hot, you should check out the sun devils. I think it was like 100 degrees in Tempe today. Those guys have got to be melting. Like seriously it's not even worth it to shower when it's that hot. You'll just sweat through your clothes. But yeah solid team, Louie is a good coach, but god damn it how hot it it there.
Washington state- they've got a new coach who drove 20 minutes down the road from Moscow to coach the cougs. They're going to have a really fun time this season and bond as a team. They're going to make a lot of friends and really give it their all. They also might do something special, but they might not.
Oregon- they've got Edward cheserek who is out to prove that out of the 34 years he's had on this earth, that this will be his fastest yet. That being said he keeps calling himself a king and he should watch himself saying that cause this is America and we don't take kindly to that kind of talk around here.
Arizona- after losing lawi lalang the wildcat men are in trouble. These kitties are gonna have to pull up their boot straps if one of them is going to overcome genetics, talent, and ability if they're going to be the next arizona wildcat to lose cross country nationals to a fast african from another school.
UCLA- UCLA will have an awesome season until their entire top 7 endures season ending injuries and floats in anonymity until eventually coming back to grab the 47th spot in the 10k for regionals their senior year.
Cal- now while they may finish last again, they can take solace in being able to tell people they run in the PAC-12. While I'm not going to predict them to win anything, I will say that they will have the most former sub 9:20 2 milers by seasons end.
Okay guys, let me know what you think and really let me have it!
