Im currently on my 4th week back running after a moderate shin injury. During my injury I jogged easily everyday for 20-30 minutes and only ended up taking around 4 weeks "off" in total. Before my injury I was regularly running 70-75 miles every week, including one day of intervals, a tempo day and frequent short races on the weekends.
Im pretty sure it was the constant high intensity running rather than the mileage that injured me, however that's not really why I'm posting.
Im posting because it feels like my legs have been run over by a truck, I am also tired all the bloody time. Everyday feels like the day after a marathon, is this just my body getting used to running again, or could it be something else?
FYI I'm not back to pre-injury volume yet, last week was about 50 miles with no high intensity work.
