I guess you don't want to collect social security or use medicare when you grow up.
You don't want your kids to go to school, you don't want to drive on roads, and you don't want the US army to save your butt when Mohamed FahQ comes to whack your head off?
Social security=ponzi scheme, i wont see anything
medicare-id rather not
Roads....OMG ONLY THE GOVERNMENT KNOWS HOW TO MAKE ROADS!?!?
THATS WHY ARE INFRASTRUCTURE IS CRUMBLING!?
US ARMY-Some of the biggest terrorists in the world
public school-government indoctrination
If you don't pay taxes, who is going to protect you from other people who will take everything you've got?
OK you win, liberkid! I drop all my previous arguments.
I'll just leave it at this, Libertarians are self serving morons with no vision. Good day.
We live in a complex society that requires compulsory cooperation.
To support a complex society, citizens need some level of state guidance and protection. This 'state' requires some level of funding (taxes).
The issue is where you draw the line on how much state there should be.
Most people can cooperate peacefully without taxes or with the minimal amount thereof
Ok fine, Here ill concede.
government has some necessary functions.
It should have an army that can adequately defend the people of this country (but not have unnecessary presence overseas).
Funding nasa, i cant see a private company doing this as there would be no market for consumers.
Other than that, the federal government should do no more.

What about airplanes? You mean to abolish the FAA?
yup
To the OP....No
Taxation, is the price for earning a living off of the organization of a strong fiscal society. Earning money in this country and not paying your taxes could more accurately be described as theft.
To be fair though, our government spends and wastes too much of our taxes dollars and they do this in a way that is not beneficial to our society and instead usually to the profit of their backers or themselves. So in this regard the politicians and corporations reaping the benefits of our tax dollars without providing services in return are thieves. Rabid thieves.
We need taxes, but we also need a better system of government, one that does not steal from the tax pool. If we can stop this then the tax burden of the average American would be much smaller and the benefits of taxation to society would likely be greater.
Taxation is theft, but I wouldn't expect any of the letsrun statists to understand how. You'd have more success explaining calculus to a two year old.
It is very much theft, but we live in a society in which people want to steal to satiate their envy.

This, every time he posts, he makes even more of a fool of himself.
There are all sorts of agencies and programs that could be cut and you wouldn't notice a thing (in some cases, things might get better). The Department of Education is an absolute waste of time and money and in more cases than not impeded the progress of a highly educated class of teachers. (But don't attack education - that would be mean).Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is another agency based on false liberal mandates. (But don't attack giving "deserving" people subsidized housing in some of the most expensive metropolitan areas in the world - put aside that it is economically backwards; it would be mean and unfair and hurt peoples feelings).Jumping to cut the FAA is an alarmist strategy - certainly there are certain functions that I'd rather have controlled by a non-profit-maximizing entity like the state.

First world problems. Me, my four and no more... says the man living in the modern-day garden of Eden (paid for parely through taxes but anyway).
These people absolutely adore saying the left wants something for nothing, but try and get a single, solitary dime from these layabouts. They're fine to use it - hell, kick you off the waiting list to do it - but come time to actually pay they suddenly have politics to consider.
It's pathetic, really it is.

As if republicans and democrats aren't self serving!! Hahaha
Everyone in the world, besides religious hermits or the mother Teresa's of the world, lives their life from day to day doing what is in their own best interest, usually. Yes, there are exceptions, but on average, people--whether they are republicans, democrats, socialists, communists, anarchists, etc--make decisions everyday that are generally in their own self interest, one way or another.
Oftentimes even the acts of charity that people do are for their own self interest--they want to feel better about themselves, look better or more charitable to others, or they feel compelled to do so by religion so that THEY can have life beyond earth in the future.
Not that there is anything wrong with any of the above--and it does not negate the actual good that charity can do in the world--but at the very heart of it, nearly every single action we do is self serving in some way or another, whether we are religious or not. I hope you don't think republicans and democrats (or "statists") are any different from libertarians and anarchists in this way.
