So I was diagnosed with a calceneal stress fracture about 2.5 weeks ago. I was only walking on the injury about 3 days (with extreme pain and swelling) before the diagnosis. The podiatrist put me in a boot and since then the swelling is completely gone and I have had zero pain for at least two weeks. I've been trying to swim, aqua jog, weight train a little, but I feel like I have no direction and I am getting impatient.
Questions:
1) What is the best way to cross train? Does anyone have a good training plan while you can't run? I need some direction and focus...
2) has anyone had a similar injury with successful recovery? What did the time line look like?
3) How do I know when I can incorporate biking and elliptical? How do I know when I can start running? What is the best way to build mileage?
Thanks in advance!
