I’m running an 18-week marathon build with peak mileage of 70mpw (using Pfitz and BAA programs as guides). I’m scheduled to run a half marathon race in two weeks. My mileage for the last two weekx was 65 and my mileage for this week is expected to be 65-70. Two questions:
-Half marathon week is scheduled to be a recovery week, which may be like a mini-tape. If that were not the case, how much should I taper for the race, if at all? My thought would be to run the same schedule Mon-Wed and cut back Th-Sat.
-Marathon week is scheduled to be a recovery week. If I also use that week to run a half, do I jeopardize the recovery week? Thought being that Mon-Sat will be recovery.
