I'm a senior, PR's are 17:37 5k, 4:50 mile. I know I'm a little slow for mst of you guys but I just need some insight on why my times have been dropping rather than improving. I'm doing 45-55 miles a week, generally at 7:15 pace. Tempos and weeks with less mileage more along 6:30-40 pace. My past 4 races had times of 17:55, 17:53, 18:05, 18:27. I want to run in college more than anything, but I know that I'm currently not fast enough, any ideas why I keep running slow times? Goals: consistent 17's this XC season, sub 17 on the track by the end of the season. Do these goals sound reasonable? Any advice on why I am getting slower rather than seeing improvement?
