I'm about to enter my freshman year of high school in a few weeks. I've been running with my high school team this summer. At the beginning of the summer we did a time trial to base our training for the rest of the summer. My PR from 8th grade track was 4:55, at the time trial in June I ran 5:05. I've run a lot more this summer than I ever have, I'm averaging about 35 mow. When I ran in 8th grade, I ran 15 miles, sometimes 20 per week. We didn't do speed work, we just ran miles.
We are having another time trial in ten days. I'm wondering if I'll be able to PR just because I have run so much more than I ever have, or will I not because we haven't been training for the 1600.
THanks.
