I can't believe that I just only need 20 more miles in two days to hit 100 miles! Just last year I couldn't even run consecutively for twenty minutes a day without a day. Ever since I ran a marathon 12 years ago when I was 19, I haven't been able to run without hurting somewhere. This is really nice that I have a chance to rack in lots of miles and actually see my potential.
So far, I've been running at around 8:00-8:30 per mile in flat area and I do lots of long climbs as I live in Seattle. It hasn't been that tiring. My legs are sort of tiered but not terrible. I used to do cycling and I felt more drained when I used to ride 400 miles a week.
Before this week, I think I was running around 70 miles a week for the last two to three weeks by running an hour in the morning and about 40 to 50 minutes in the afternoon. I'm not exactly sure as I just started utilizing gps this week. First my phone, then I bought garmin forerunner 15 but I'm returning it and getting tomtom runner tomorrow.
I'm hoping to eventually get up to running 140 miles a week like runningart and HRE to see what I can do. But I think I'll stick around 100 for now as I think my body is telling me that's plenty for now.
I'm also doing lots of core and some push ups and pull ups and stretches. I do core and push ups before and after every run and I really think that has helped me not be too stiff. Also what's helping me is that I use standing desk at work which is helping not get too stiff as I only sit when I want to rest for a bit.
