In a place where most people don't have central air conditioning, a heat index of 101 is a big deal.It's currently 86 degrees and drippingly humid in my apartment. It'll be 90 INSIDE by this afternoon.. If I don't pound water constantly I'm going to get really dehydrated.The winter equivalent would be if it were 15 degrees in Louisiana and nobody had heat. Sure, Minnesotans could deal with that in our heated homes, but you'd freeze to death.
