Right now I'm currently in between coaches. My D1 head distance coach just got let go and they are still in the hiring process.
So I'm just wondering about my training in the mean time. Should I just build base and do strides? Focusing on mileage? Because I just don't know what or if I should be doing hard sessions on my own before the arrival of the new coach.
I want to be in great shape once the new coach gets here, but cross country season is so long, and want to start the right workouts and training at the right time for nationals.
Any opinions?
Mileage focused or do workouts? Also what pace on runs?
Btw I ran 16:40 as a freshman girl if that helps to indicate pace/shape. (Even tho I feel much slower now after taking the mandatory two weeks off after regionals) and just having to do base runs since then.
