OKcupid is free. You have to pay to really utilize match. I have been on OKc off and on for over a year. It's probably a decent site if you live in an urban area, but even here where there are over 300,000 people within a 70 mile radius I find nearly everyone on that site is pretty undesirable for one reason or another. There are basically three types of girls on there:
1. Girls who are average-looking at best
2. Single mothers
3. Decent-looking girls who are either socially retarded or just freakin weirdos.
That being said I have made a few friends and had a few hookups from the site, but I recently took a break because it was so depressing. But then I'm a good looking guy with a lot going for him. If you're an average dude with no prospects in the real world, OKc might be great for you.
On a related note, I read an article a while back about a math PhD student who hacked the system by creating multiple bots that would search out all females in his area, cluster them into groups, eliminate ones based on certain criteria, and then provide him with only the best candidates for a long term partner, and he still went on something like 83 first dates before he met someone he felt he was seriously compatible with. Makes me feel better about going out with around 20 different girls and thinking 17 of them disasters.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
