could well be our next great sprinter.
Low altitude HS record. Right?
Whitney > Felix
She has so much talent it's truly amazing. Can't wait to see her in world juniors
and we also had a 9th grade girl (will enter 10th in late august) get 2nd at 55.63 at 400 hurdles, but she was born in 1999 so she is too young for world juniors, also we had a 16 year old who will enter 12th grade in august myles marshall who won in 1:48.01 at 800, side note his father (john marshall) ran 1:43.92 for 800.
USA has a great future in this sport.
Head Coach for the USA team thinks so as well

Last great US teen sprinter was Marion Jones and its eerily strange how the two had similar starts. Jones early on taken under the wing of Remy Korchemeni who later was banned for life in Balco and she had rapid improvement. Whitney has similar situation.
I wish nothing but the best for Kaylin Whitney but the truth is she is coached by a positive drug cheat and his wife also a drug bust in Balco no less.
I also worry when a 16 year old runs so fast and then they hit a point where they face struggles to run any faster how they handle things mentally. Its often why some athletes turn to drugs, to get that improvement they are missing.
because she is from florida, i thought you were saying convicted drug cheat dennis mitchell (married to drug cheat demu cherry is her coach) i thought it would be an outrage to let a drug cheat coach at a high school or also an outrage for a school to hire without checking into that.
anyway i looked up who coaches at her school and their names as athletes dont ring a bell, please out which one/s on this coaching staff are drug cheats, thank you.
Whitney trains with Star Athletics, which is connected with Dennis Mitchell (and Gatlin). BTW the last great American teenage sprinter was Felix, who broke Jones' WJR in the 200 with 22.11 at age 17. Whitney has a way to go to break that, but I think she's primarily a 100m sprinter. Felix is one of only two people (Kirani James is the other) to win a World Championship gold as a teenager.
With the 100m time she just ran, Whitney could make quite a bit of money on the circuit right now.

Felix's 22.11 was run at altitude...
Felix's best in HS (non altitude) was 22.51
Will be burnt out in 3 years

Are you joking?
Do you seriously think Kaylin is on PEDs?

She's a sprinter, not a skinny, malnourished distance runner.
Only 2 things could be responsible for this result: 1) faulty timing/measurement; 2) drugs.
Or a combination of both.
Let's wait and see what happens in the coming years.
Ever heard of Angela Williams? One of the few HS girls under 11 (not wind legal).
Was Angela able to ever beat her HS times once testing impacted her? Strong talk she was getting some extra aid in HS from same source that provided Marion help.
I personally don't think Whitney is juicing but she is getting max help in EVERY area of coaching and support from supplements and lifting and so forth beyond her technical form which is A+. Her upside I would still take but just the lack of improvement that is physically possible is going to cause mental issues as she quits the rapid improvement and when she runs slower times she will grow frustrated and its how she and those around her handle this that holds the key to her future.
"Strong talk" from who or what? I have literally NEVER heard anybody insinuate Angela Williams was on drugs in high school or during her time at USC. She was the only (maybe first) 4 time outdoor winner in the 100. It's not that she wasn't good and dominated...the point I am trying to make is that the burnout theory happens with sprints as well. Monique Henderson is another name. Sholanda Solomon currently. Bianca Knight??? On and on and on.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
