Seriously though, is Nike gonna regret not keeping Meb around after this race? NYC was one thing, but the press will be all over Meb's victory today, given last year's tragedy and everything.

This is a great coup for Sketchers.
This event has gotten more press than any other running event in recent history.
And look who wins it.
I've been training in Sketchers for a couple years now. Love them.
A good friend of mine who is very picky about what he runs in just took a job with them after raving about their shoes. Very curious to check em out.
?
one would have to believe they make a decent shoe. I suspect Meb is happy to be with them. I am very disappointed in the NIKE employee whose decision was to let him go.
Nike messed up! The old man proved he had more in him. They should have paid this man, oh well. Big win for Sketchers :)
You mean it's possible to win a race without Lunar, Flywire, Flyknit, Boost etc???
Karma is a b****.
Enjoy them. Sketchers makes a great product for distance runners.
I have some Skechers running shoes. They're nice, and I got them very cheap since most people don't yet associate Skechers with running. However, I still prefer my Saucony shoes over anything else, and I've run in Nike, Adidas, Brooks, Reebok, New Balance, and other. I really have no brand favorite because I've had great shoes in all of these brands. It's just that ever since Saucony's Jazz and TC-84, I think they've stuck more closely with what works best for me, and they're always more reasonably priced, while some of the others are always trying to come up with a new gimmick or innovation that costs a bundle while really doing nothing.
Where are sketchers available, footlocker?
The gorun shoes look interesting, flexible, lightweight, and I like the heel design.
They are the real deal as running shoes - soft, flexible, and simple design. I've got the Go Runs in a regular rotation.
I didn't try them at first because there's nowhere local that I know of that carries them. I finally took the plunge and just ordered them from Amazon and they've been good shoes.
If Skechers plans to compete they need to get them in stores.

I tried them on in a Marshall's maybe 6 months ago. They felt great but I didn't buy them at the time. I agree about Sketchers needing to get into stores. Hell, if I'm a store owner in New England, I'm calling Sketchers tomorrow.
I bought a pair of the GoRuns and, while they're not bad, I wasn't too impressed.
My main complaints are 1) the "rocker like" midsole that (to me) feels very awkward to run in and 2) the outsole didn't have any rubber and was not durable at all. It rains frequently where I live and I felt there was no traction at all after only 150 miles or so.
I'm sure Skechers will continue to evolve, and I'm glad there's more competition in the running shoe market. They're just not for me.

The rocker-like midsole is supposed to promote a midfoot strike, but I see how it could be awkward if you aren't used to it.
I'm very tempted to pick up a pair, but the GoRun and GoRun2 are sold out of all 'normal' sizes on Amazon. And the GoRun3 is 75 bucks. No thank you. I'll stick to brands I know for that price.
The Go Run 3's don't have as dramatic a "rocker." The go-bionics are completely zero drop, and excellent.

I've been wearing the Pegasus (and mid-foot striking in them) for about 12 years. I like to pick up other shoes to alternate every once in a while. Some I like (Kinvara, Launch), some I don't (Asics 33 shoes, Skechers). Even though I have a pretty efficient stride and don't heel strike, I still prefer a traditional running shoe.
I'm glad people like them though. To each their own.
Not bad. Maybe if Meb goes on to win another major marathon, people will even learn the name of his sponsor (hint: it's not Sketchers).
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
