After months of rest, strengthening, rolling and stretching (and yes, massage and ART.) My doc suggested a cortisone shot for my ITBS. 3 days later I was running without pain on flat surfaces. After 10 days I added a modest hill to my run (downhills were very tough on the IT band.) I experienced no real pain during the run, but afterwards, I'd swear that the area around the epicondyle was aggravated--almost as if it was jacked but the cortisone was blunting what would have been a very painful situation. Because I couldn't feel any pain, I could just be playing mind games with myself or it could just be normal soreness from not running for so long. I dunno.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? How'd it work out.
