Originally I started taking Ferrous Sulphate which inititally gave my ferritin levels a good boast but then I found it became less effective over time. I switched to Ferrous Fumerate as this is less irritable on the stomach and supposedly more easily absorbable. I'm now finding this compound less effective as well after taking it for about 8months (2 x 322mg per day).
Has anyone else found that iron supplements lose their effectiveness after you have taken them regularly for a while?
Are there any other iron compounds recommended? I'm thinking about trying Ferrous Glucanoate.
