Watched a high school track coach overtly cheat in the 3200. He was counting laps. I , and a few others were watching as spectators, and former coaches. We noticed that his athlete was about half a lap behind the leaders around 5 laps, and then was lapped at 6 laps. He then had his athlete stop right after the winners. His guy only ran 7 laps. The kid actually said he lost count and believed the coach. But a video later revealed the truth. The coach claimed he didn't do it on purpose. C'mon!
He lost count between 6 and 8?
He didn't notice the 1:00+ PR?
I've run underhand before. Not surprisingly, it offers no advantage over running overhand.

I know he (coach) did. That's why I know he knew what he was doing. The kid? he didn't see the time until after the race. There was no clock displayed (small tri meet)
He knew, and actually was embarrased and seemed angery at the coach.
Any-who the kid didn't do well at states ( this time qualified him) and that was that. You can't fake fitness

I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
