Miller led just about from the wire and held off Krar and Canaday (and broke Max King) for the W at the Lake Sonoma 50 today. So much to love about ultras. A 31 min. 10 km dishes it out on some Olympic Trials guys. Love it.

Do they live stream these ultras? It seems like a no-brainer to create interest in them. They aren't televised and we only hear the results. I'd like to watch one and see what their is to love about them first hand.
If the Sonoma 50 was the WOD, ten Crossfitters would have crossed the line before him
Just listened to a podcast of him cool guy he's run the UTMB course and run up mountains around the world while working on a cruise ship. So he is no slouch to trail running. Having said that its still funny to think a few years ago if you were faster than a 2:40 marathoner you were "too fast" to be good at ultras. Now they are dominating the scene.

Why don't you just sign up and race one?
If you want to get a little interested go here.

Let me get his straight:
You want a company to somehow follow the race leaders on single track trails in the middle of nowhere for 7-15 hours and give commentary and results, AND you want it to be live streamed on the internet?
i absolutely L-O-V-E 4hr MLB games. a 7h+ race would be HEAVEN for a televised-sports fan like myself!!!
impressive, I agree with you.
The days of the old-school guys bullying the younger guys is coming to an end. The old adage of "well, he hasn't done a 100-miler" to prove his worth as an ultra runner is coming to an end, thanks to guys like Kilian making trail racing the true test of an ultra runner, not an arbitrary distance.
I think the new generation is tired of the bullying and psychological insecurities of the old regime ("we must remember our roots" - what type of BS is that, what roots?)
These guys are the new Ann Trasons and Dan Helds of the ultra world.
Kudos to Zach Miller.. he ran out of his mind, with no respect to the field, but purely respecting his body and effort.
UROC will be interesting.
if the top athletes in the sport are only doing it part time, it doesnt say much for the sport.
It isn't about part time full time necessarily. Its about getting talent into the fields with enough support they can keep running at all. That is what has been missing before. Now Nike has jumped in and seem to want to pick up all the fast young guys and gals with potential not necessarily having a traditional 'it' factor for selling trail shoes to the demographic.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
