I'm guessing you don't know much about College athletics.
When one coach leaves and another coach acts as the interim coach there is always turnover with athletes. Either the athletes weren't happy with the switch or for whatever reason they don't like the interim coach.
Doesn't mean Chap did anything. Now if athletes continue to leave after he has been there for a year then you can blame it on the coach. Right now there is to little information to make the conclusion.
Actually I use to be a division 1 cross country coach.
If I was the AD, the day after the conference meet I would let Chad know he will no longer be needed. I don't care how it went down. When you lose the only All americans in school history when they have eligibility left, you are done.
