They gave a pass to the local (Russian) runner who blatantly fouled Ajee Wilson 10 meters from the finish line.

wow...she wound up and elbowed her...clearly knocking her off balance.
Yes, she did. Didn't notice that earlier.
That clearly is a foul, and it was clearly intentional. Why didn't they file a protest?
But Ajee did great and will have many more opportunities.
seriously, why no protest? wilson was gaining some ground, and was even with martinez before this happened.
i'm surprised wilson didnt mention it in any interviews

Yeah, that's odd. What a cheap-a**!!!
I'm all for banging elbows, but that was blatant - the russkie moved over an entire lane and whacked ajee for no reason.
I suspect the russian didn't realize how much she had veered, but still - that was too much.
How about all the fouls that Mo Farah committed?
Why wasn't he disqualified?
Wow, that actually seemed blatant. That's horrible.
Wow, you're right. That Russian woman wound up and hit Wilson not once, but twice. Wilson should have smacked her after the finish. Can't be DQed for that.
Savinova blew an opportunity to cut Sum off as they went around Montano. She could have (legally) hit Sum since Sum did not have a step on her.
Wow that was bad.
I believe the proprietors of this site fancy themselves as journalists. Please sirs, track down Ms. Wilson and ask about this please.
Good officials let the athletes play the game. When you get to the champs level neither infighting down the stretch nor traveling during a breakaway layup gets called.
OK you have to take something like four or five steps to get a traveling call in the NBA but you get the idea.
not for no reason. she was looking for a path around Montano and Martinez had just taken away the inside. She started drifting wide about 30-40m out while Wilson was still behind her, and far enough out to still be thinking medal. Yielding to Wilson would have meant 6th place for sure, so risking a DQ was worth it.
Poistogova was being forced out by Montano who was sprawling and cutting across in front of her in lane two. Wilson tried to give her some room but it wasn't enough as Montano continued swerving out to lane three.
The incident was totally the fault of Montano. Poistogova was just trying to get through to the finish, and Wilson was totally in the clear. It's a shame that happened, but the cause was Montano, with her crazy antics.
The fact that someone is moving sideways in front of you does not give you the right to hit the person next to you to make room. It's your tough luck.
Should have been DQ.
Poistogova was coming in behind her compatriot and was in a bad position. That doesn't give her the right to shove someone out of the way in the next lane in order to create an opening. Clear foul in front of the finish line officials, but they were probably reluctant to disqualify a Russian in that venue.
Gong. Wrong again,

What the f*ck does Mo Farah have to do with the women's 800?
Whoa, just saw the video. Was expecting a slight move or something but that was about two obvious elbows to Ajee who had to run out of the way. Shocked it wasn't protested!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
