She made the final before starting her senior year of high school and finished in the top 10 IN THE WORLD! She's probably tired after a long season and all of the rounds, something she's not used to, yet she still put out a great effort, equaled her seeded place, and finished only 2 1/2 seconds back of her PR. Think about it. It's rare that we can even get a collegiate athlete into a final or into the top 10 in the world. She definitely has a bright future!

+1. Amazing season for Cain, especially when you think about how far she's come in the last 12 months. At this time last year she was an AJR holder but an also ran at the world junior level. Now she's the #1 U18 female mid-d runner in the world and the youngest runner to make finals of the women's 1500m at senior worlds. Here's hoping she breaks 4 while still in HS.

I would almost be surprised if this doesn't happen at this point. Her 4:05 running so wide shows that she's already capable of getting her PR down to at least 4:02 or so.

She actually has the 26th fastest time in the world and finished 10th at the World Championships.
Pretty good result.

It's really great Mary made the final.

It took SFH many tries to make the final. She was in her 30's before she got into the finals. In fact, she only made the final once in her career.

Big things are coming Mary's way!!!

The way Cain came from lane 8 at the start and ran right into Simpson on the rail was bazaar. I chuckled at Simpson's response of brushing her aside with authority and a look of annoyance.
