Does anyone know if they've made a statement one way or the other?
Thanks.

When are you racing again and what are your plans for the summer and fall?
My next race will be the 10,000m at the U.S. track championships [June 19-23 in Des Moines, Iowa]. I was thinking about running a race at the Portland Track Festival [June 7-8 at Lewis and Clark College] but I think I’m just going to go for it at USAs with one big race. I absolutely want to make the U.S. team for the world championships (in Moscow). If I make it, I’ll focus the rest of the summer on getting my speed back. If I don’t make it, then I’ll find some fun road races to run and start thinking about a fall marathon.
SF June 17 (?) - around 8:00 in this video she says she wants to go to moscow.

Flanagan must be insane, as she didn't go to World Cross.
I don't see why they wouldn't, but remember, Goucher doesn't have the A standard. I know things are different at the WC with regards to A's and B's, but depending on how the race at USA's plays out, Goucher may not get to go, even if she wanted to. We all know it will be too hot there to run that fast. How many other world class 10,000 meter races are there before the WC for her to chase the standard?
Good interview with Flanagan, where she made some interesting statements. It seems that, unlike last year where she tried to sit and kick for the win (which was obviously a bad strategy because she has no speed), she might go hard from the gun knowing that no one can probably stick with her. Not a bad strategy based on her solo 31:04 back in March. That is, assuming she recovered well from Boston, which seems likely given that it was a pretty slow race until the last 4-5 miles.
She also insinuates that they might try a different strategy for her next marathon. I take this to mean that she'll put herself out there into the lead and try and press a fast pace from the gun.

Repeat after me: 2 A's, 1 B.
Who else who has a B has a realistic shot at beating Kara? Nobody...
Good point. With Bawcom and Conley not running, Kara SHOULD have an easy time getting third behind Flanagan and Hastings. I was thinking Bawcom would run, but she isn't even entered, much less declared. The heat is sometimes a good equalizer, but I doubt Hasay or Erdmann could out kick Goucher even in a 33:30 race.

let's be honest, all women are insane. skipping world cross is something, quite unfortunately, a lot of the top runners have been doing. T&F is a different ball game; you don't skip T&F worlds. granted, that sucks, i wish it were the other way around if it had to be one or the other, but it's not.
Why are two 10000m medalist a still chasing the marathon where they have found little success? Women have very little logic and rarely make the right decisions for themselves.

No kidding. Not to mention the fact that there are major marathons during two significant windows every year, whereas track champs only happen 3 out of 4 years.
Also, I wouldn't say they've found little success. Marathoning is extremely competitive right now. You don't have artificial field limitations to keep out people from strong running countries.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
