did that just happen? 30 years later she did it again?

Yeah, and don't post her time either.
She set the Masters World Records 30 years ago too?!

That woman has an undying need for attention. She's pathetic. She's like the great high school athlete that keeps hanging around the old high school because he wants to relive his glory.
We get it. She's great. I thought she was retiring a few years ago. No such luck as long as there are cameras to be in front of.

Maybe she just, you know, likes the sport and likes competing and being good.

Post your real name you pathetic sack of sh:t and I will come and teach you some respect. I am serious. However, it will rapidly become apparent that not only are you a sack of sh:t, but a cowardly sack of sh:t, because you will remain anonymous.
Crawl away and die.
Big difference between great HS athlete and Olympic gold. If she is still breaking records and enjoying it why does it bother you so much? In case you haven't noticed she is very busy in many other areas and helping to better the world. You are the pathetic one.

She isn't quite comparable to a high school athlete. She is the most successful female marathoner in the US. I think she has earned the right to hang out for a while.
Also, I think she said this is probably her last serious attempt at running a fast marathon. It's obvious she enjoys running and it's great that she's still around the sport.
Not a new "masters" record - 2h50 - since masters starts at 40. Perhaps a new age-group record for 50+ (Seniors?).

Wow. Maybe you can tell us at what age a person should stop trying their best at the thing they are best at.

No, 50 is still masters. Just another age group.
Seniors is through 39 years of age.
I assume that Boston isn't record eligible for master athletics just as it isn't by IAAF standards but the standing record for W55 is 2:52:14 (Rae Baymiller - Chicago 98) and Joan ran 2:50:29 today.

If the old high school athlete would like to relive his/her past glory by setting age group records then I, for one, am totally in favor of it.

The next time you brush your troll teeth, the person staring back at you in the mirror is what pathetic looks like.

Age-graded, the 2:50:29 at 55 yo is better than the open WR!
2:14:15 AG...that's awesome.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
