No distance/middle distance runner in their right mind would run at A&M. All I have to say.

This whole situation has me thinking...
Another very talented runner from Norway enrolled at A&M a little over two years ago. He spent one semester there. He got fat/injured/homesick and decided to leave the track program and school just after his freshmen XC season, where his last race was a DNF at the Big 12 XC meet. Disappeared for a little while, but later reemerged a completely new runner. Who is this man you say? It is Henrik Ingebriksen of Norway. In London, he finished 5th in the Olympic 1500 final as a 21 year old. Just another example of A&M ruining top tier talent. And to give credit where credit is due, Dan Waters was his coach at the time, not Wendel McRaven.
Nothing wrong with going to a sprint school if you're distance but you should understand you are going to be expected to race for points and contend for the Conf'Champs in several events. No getting around it.
If that's not your bag don't go there. Select a school where ' heaven has a plan for you ' is a reality and you work with the staff to get where you'd like to be. Programs like that are out there and they aren't hard to find.
Yes, Patrick Henry did speak of Natosha's decision to the media and how it hurt the teams chances.

is patrick henry still around? i thought when he said give me liberty or give me death, they gave him death, guess i was wrong glad to hear he is alive.
If I was Natosha, I would be done with A&M after getting blown up in the media like that.

Henry said the Aggies were hurt by the decision of distance runner Natosha Rogers not to run this year.
“A distance base is so important (at the NCAA indoor meet),” Henry said. “It’s a tough situation for our team. One of the best distance runners in the U.S. decided she doesn’t want to compete anymore.”
What a total jack/ss.
Natosha Rogers is a role model for every woman, and every runner to not put up with that type of treatment from anyone.
I thought the Henry criticism might be overblown, but damn that is Grade A Hole commentary on his part. Good luck on yhour post collegiate running, Notosha!

Except for Lelei. And Preble. And Rogers.
Seems to be a recent trend of nationally scoring middle and distance talent to me.
Reading comprehension, people. All Henry said was that it hurts the teams scoring, which is true, and that one of the best distance runners in the nation decided that she didn't want to compete anymore.
He didn't throw her under the bus or anything like that. The most damning comments came from the writer of the article who tried to take the quote and make it more than it was.
This isn't difficult to see based on the comments of the team members - this is a fixed mindset issue here. Look it up if you don't know what I'm talking about.
She can come back, but it will probably take a lot of time out of the spotlight.
Wrong Texas HS coach....he did not need to bring up her name or situation into it at all, very unprofessional. He knew this was a News article and it would get back to her...or you could say...it was his way of getting back at her...very child like.
His comments show his ignorance and the pressure he was putting on her, which continues even after she stopped competing.
It is very strange that he singled her out, rather than focusing on the people who chose to compete in the meet.

That is what he said. If a QB decides to transfer away or leave the team, the coach can acknowledge that it is tough for the team....because IT IS.
He didn't say anything other than she didn't want to compete anymore.
The way I'm reading it - he even gave her an out...no base. You guys are twisting it because you hate A&M/Pat Henry. You see what you want to see and you straight up distance weirdos in the state think the only place is Texas. Not true.
They don't need Tosha Rogers, they have Johnny Football at A&M. That's all there is to say.

After 5 pages of responses, your interpretation is in the minority. And I wouldn't make the generalization that every responder in this thread hates A&M. Only a few have declared "hate" for A&M. That statement shows ignorance on your end.
Jacob Burham will soon be following suit.

He seems to be hating the sport as well.
I'm not understanding how anyone can be upset with the coach's comments that her departure hurts the team. There's no personal attack here. Nothing derogatory said. It's just stating a fact.
I wouldn't kick her out of my bed :)

Let me fix that for you.
"I wouldn't ever have the opportunity to kick her out of my bed."
You are welcome, sir.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
