Who do you think wins between the two?
Who do you think wins between the two?
Derrick.
Cam just ran 8:13, Derrick just ran 13:11
Pretty even match
I'ld say this is an even match, but if Derrick does not try and go out with lead pack and Levins does this could bring out a really interesting result
Derrick will crush him. USA USA USA
while i think it will be close, 8:13 is a better performance than 13:11, but not by a whole lot.

According to Purdy, 8:13.00 = 13:11.11, so I don't know what metric you're "using" to come to your conclusions.
(What I do know is that the 2 mile isn't run very often; you probably are just more impressed than you should be by 8:13 because there aren't enough races at the distance to relate the performances to the 5k distance.)
I used the IAAF for this year, and I didn't say I was more impressed, I just said it was a better performance. Based on Purdy, my assumption that it is not that much better (or at all) was justified.
Also, you can easily compare the 3,000m and the 2 mile, so there are plenty of those to compare to 5k's. The IAAF table also says 7:30 is about the same as 12:52 for 5k for Galen Rupp. I know its not exact but its not far-fetched.
Cam all the way when the distance goes up.
Levins. He'll go out hard. Derrick will move up but not bridge the gap.
So that means Jager and Bumbalough should've been with Derrick during that 5k. I wonder what was up with them. Probably just not recovered from the 2 mile.
They'd run 3:56 and 8:13/14 the previous two weeks and the pace was hot. They are clearly at 13:11 level, they just didn't have it. Bumbi has been better than Derrick at the 5000 but I wonder if Derrick is moving ahead. I personally think it was an off day and Bumbi will be low 13:0x this summer and with more bang at the end to beat Derrick, but Derrick should do huge things this summer in the 10000
Cam 15th
Derrick 17th
If it comes to a kick, my money's on the Canadian guy.
When has Levins ever gone out hard? He will sit and kick as usual. Top 15.
Looking at the IAAF scoring tables : 8:13.02 2 miles is equivalent to 13:04.95 for 1192 points. A 13:11.02 5000 is worth 1170 points and equal to 8:16.84 for 2 miles. This is for outdoors.
Cam Levins
