So I just had a light surgery and got stitches on my cheek. I was advised to not shower for 48 hrs and so I did not do so. I don't want it to scar and if it does I don't want it to be noticeable so I am thinking of not running until I get my stitches removed in a few days. I am an NCAA d 1 xc/track athlete at a top 50 uni and kind of hesitant of skipping a week of mileage. Do you think running and showering after with stitches will increase the chances of scarring?
