So I just had a light surgery and got stitches on my cheek. I was advised to not shower for 48 hrs and so I did not do so. I don't want it to scar and if it does I don't want it to be noticeable so I am thinking of not running until I get my stitches removed in a few days. I am an NCAA d 1 xc/track athlete at a top 50 uni and kind of hesitant of skipping a week of mileage. Do you think running and showering after with stitches will increase the chances of scarring? |

Put some cloth on it then duct tape it over. Then you\'re good to go |

Unless you are a woman, a facial scar will give you some character. |

ESPECIALLY if you are a woman.

I had 8 stitches in my eyebrow and was able to run just fine. I do have a scar though; not sure it would have mattered either way. |

I know you can do it because my girlfriend runs when she's on her period. |
