Can't believe I did this being from the Midwest originally, but that is what costs here for anyone contemplating the move. The plus is the SF re market is quite strong and doesn't correct dramatically due to the demand.

That sounds cheap for SF. Seriously. What neighborhood?

Gotta either be the Sirloin or Castro Districts.

What?? $500/sq foot? I just bought in SF and I paid WAY, WAY more than that.
Did you buy in the Tenderloin or Daly City? I mean if it's a great deal, congrats, but even out in Twin Peaks you're looking at $600-700/sq foot these days.

Protrero Hill. This listing is very near the one I purchased:

What area did you buy? You must be in the high rent district - Nob or PH?
Should have stayed in the mw. I bought a 3000sf, 4br, 3ba home for $245K in Omaha about 9mos ago.

South Beach, small 1br but very nicely renovated and maintained. Was renting a studio in NH before. The mortgage now is less, but after taxes, HOA, but then accounting for tax deductions the cash flow is basically a wash (plus am building equity). Hopefully no major repairs though ha ha. There were actually 5 offers higher than mine (one went into contract but financing fell through and I got it).
How much property tax do you have to pay per year?

Ah, SB is nice. 5 offers - wow. It's a hot market no doubt.
Two questions. Make it 4.
1) What do you do for a living?
2) Why don't you move?
3) Are you single? How old are you?

Might have something to do with SF being one of the most kick arse cities in the world. A bit more fun than Omaha.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
