I'm still a fan of Hitler and his Nazis and here's why: Nobody takes over a large part of Europe without great leadership, fortitude, and brass balls.
Winning. (and then having it taken away, but still, winning. sort of)

Nice post. Europe was an even playing field and the Nazis took over Europe. The Jews could have built up an army to stop them but they weren't strong enough. Hitler was the best leader of his time. If it weren't for the damn USDA(I mean USA) Hitler would have been able to complete all his medical research and come up with a cure for cancer probably.

I really hope you're not a coach for several reasons.
You clearly don't understand the full effects of doping. The advantage isn't in the fact that you have drugs in your system WHILE you compete. Its the things that you can do with the drugs in your system BEFORE competition.
Lance would not have been leading the tours if he hadn't had the kind of preparation he did, while using the drugs. These led him to be able to train and recover better than anyone else did.
I don't think anyone who rides in the TDF is blah blah blah I'm boring bab
So in conclusion, you are clueless. And Armstrong remains a cheat. And a bully.
I am a coach. I do not condone drug use, however Lance is still tough as nails and was exciting to watch. I mean, in the end.it's only as port to provide us entertainment, right? Who really cares?
I love all you idiots comparing Lance Armstrong, a cyclist, to Adolf Hitler, the facilitator for massive genocide and war crimes.
And then the other guy who compared seven tour wins to having sex with a 54 year old woman (my mother).
You guys clearly are off your rockers.
But just to be clear, I am not a fan of Hitler because I like Lance Armstrong.... I can't believe I had to spell that out for a few of you.
That's great that you've donated whatever % of your income to charity. The fact of the matter is, that amount will never amount to what Lance has raised.
The LiveStrong Foundation has raised over $470 million. The Foundation was started during the same year that Lance beat cancer - two years before he ever won a tour.
That sounds pretty genuine to me.
"I just find it unbelievable, almost amusing, that people still ardently defend Lance after he destroyed so many lives, including messing up his marriage and likely screwing up his kids too." - Sagarin
How many lives did Lance "destroy?" You know for a fact that it was Lance's doing that his marriage ended and THAT his kids' lives are likely ruined? You are letting your hatred for the drug-using athlete cloud everything you say.

No one in their right mind would seriously compare Lance to Hitler other than to make a point which you don't seem to get:
Just because you are great at doing something wrong doesn't make you great, it just proves how great you are at doing wrong.
You completely missed my point about giving to a cause in proportion to one's income. The ONLY reason Lance had a platform to RAISE a ton of money for cancer is because he cheated. He also stole money from others who, perhaps deserved it, and he ruined more than a few people's careers. Didn't he say that he came back at age 37 to PROVE to his children that he's not a doper? How messed up is that and what must they be dealing with now? As for his marriage, well, you're probably one of the ones who believed Lance was clean all along. I do not HATE the man. I feel sorry for him. I hope he seeks forgiveness and redemption and exhibits model behavior for his kids going forward. I believe everyone deserves a chance to repent and live a righteous life. But, I see no evidence of it yet, just more egoistic behavior.
Agreed, the slanderous conduct of the website lately makes me feel more sorry for the Brojos than Lance. Since we are making accusations... I want to see some samples from Weldon. Now! If he does not send samples to my address that I will email than he is guilty by refusing to adhere to my requests.

if you're a fan of a man who is a liar; a thief; someone who easily throws his friendships and relationships aside to satisfy his own whims; someone who maliciously and deliberately destroys careers and lives of those who "betrayed" him; and can't give up the fact that he'll never each the pinnacle of any sport again, then you've got serious problems, dude. the guy is a complete ass. he was once revered in austin until people had to start dealing with him. were it up to most, he would no longer be welcome here.
I am a lance fan for life and I love how angry that makes many of you on LR.

lol that one actually made me laugh.
I am not a fan of a cheating and lying Lance, I am a fan of one of the toughest competitors I've ever seen race.

Lance Armstrong destroyed me!
If it wasn't for him, I'd be the President!
not even kidding. wrote:

Your fanboyism doesn't anger anyone, it just shows that you must be a very shallow, simple person.
Actually, the fanboys are trolls. Hooked me in for awhile. 7/10 kids. Well done.

Let's not forget about all the lives he destroyed to protect his lie. Who is going to make those people whole again? When Lance does that then I can begin to appreciate his efforts to raise $$$ for cancer research. Until then he is a scumbag.
Exactly. I don't expect my sports heroes to be perfect. But Lance has precisely zero integrity. He lied and lied--which is to say, he slandered people who were telling the truth.
They had integrity. Floyd Fing Landis had integrity, next to Lance.
I was one of those who waved the flag of "Maybe he's clean. Maybe he's telling the truth." for a long time.
When Lance cries, says "I'm heartbroken at the lies I told in order to save my legacy and I'm going to spend the next period of years doing my best to be accountable to those I hurt with my lies rather than worry too much about my career as a masters triathelete," and begins to ACT on those words, I may begin to regain my respect for him.
I'm not holding my breath.

For the record, I never thought Lance was clean. I would like to say that I thought he was a master of the system but I don't even believe that. I believe that he was the most popular figure in a drugged-up sport and he, along with many others, was able to skate through because revenue was more important than integrity.
I guess what I am saying is - for me - I can separate Lance as a person from Lance as an athlete if that makes sense. It's hard for me to have conviction and really believe that he has ruined his family's lives or really anyone else's for that matter.
Now, without justifying Lance's cheating, do you think the second place finisher in any of the TDF's was clean? What about the third place finisher?
Pretty much every cyclists who has ever trained with Lance has ALSO ADMITTED to cheating. These guys were finishing midpack with the exception of Roberto Heras on one occasion. So, normal guys were beating the USPS drug cheats? No; the entire sport is dirty. It's not that I have respect for Lance, it's that I don't really have respect for cycling, and I view it as entertainment rather than pure sport. So Lance is probably held to a lower standard than athletes in sports I respect.
You're right, that is a bunch of jibberish. You are justifying his cheating, plain and simple. Every sport is rampant with PED use, but that does NOT mean that every athlete is dirty. And, yes, Lance forced a number of cyclist out of sport because either they wouldn't dope or they spoke out publicly against doping. The stories are numerous. Maybe he didn't "ruin" their lives, but he took something they were equally passionate about away from them. Some could no longer make a living doing the sport they loved. You can simplify this all you want for your own purposes, but to say Lance didn't sh*t on a lot of people is nothing more than ignorance and jibberish.

I had no idea that there were two Lance Armstrongs. This explains all the TDF victories. Tough Lance rode on even days and doper Lance rode on odd days.
Yes, I'm kidding :D
