Hasay is back, and she's pissed. Put 6 seconds on frosh phenom Laura Hollander at the West regional today. Kroeger in 3rd. She's back in it.

NO ONE CAN BEAT D'AGOSTINO. SHE IS UNSTOPPABLE!!!
This is only the regional. Hollander will smoke Hasay at Nats.
Hasay looked completely in contoll the whole race. Hollander is FAST, but I don't see her being able to run away from the field at the national meet and I'm not sure she can learn patience and tactics between now and then.
She's AWESOME, but she's not going to run away from the whole field.

Not even. Whatchoo smokin', boy?
Hasay will run exactly like Rupp did when he won. I was at the 7k when Rupp was running up on Chelanga just waiting to pass him and dust him over the last kilometer.
Experience says it here , Jordan knows how to race. As said prior Hollanders freshman roll is exceptional , not sure she will make top ten by nationals , running out of gas.
If anyone was at the race, it was an impressive performance by Hasay.
The Phenom freshman took it out big time and I think kind of surprised everyone (why would she take it out so fast? A question she has to answer next weekend). Then, Hasay-Pappas-Kroeger kept pace at about a 10 second pace behind. Interestingly enough, Pappas and Hasay were doing all the work. Kroeger was just sitting on Hasay and Pappas, all chasing the young freshman. (Don't know what Kroeger's strategy was, but not a good one from her coach. Another question she must answer next week).
Then at the last 1K to 600 Jordan started to press the young freshman. At 500M they ran shoulder to shoulder for about 100 yards, (imagine Hollander's thoughts here, never having a close race in her young collegiate career), then at about 400M to go, Jordan kicked it in. It was over.
Like I said, very nice race from Hasay. It was like the shark on it's prey, and the experienced shark won. This young gal from Cal Poly though is a force to be reckoned with in the future.
Nice race to all.
She made the LRC predictions look silly. I always wonder about the mentality on this site that you are only as good as your last race. Doesn't anybody understand about peaking and that some races are just preparation? You'd think being competitive runners and coaches they would grasp that, wouldn't you?

A really lame move by Rupp by the way. I don't want to see someone jog easy behind someone and kick it in. Either show me a good back n forth race or put in a huge gap between you and the next competitor.
uhhh....Rupp was just doing an "easy jog" behind Chelanga?
Maybe you don't get it, but running 10K's with Chelanga was never an "easy jog"....not even for Rupp. Oh, and by the way, Rupp won didn't he? I always thought that was what racing was all about in the end...winning.

Yeah, totally lame. Who wants to see someone win an NCAA title after just missing out the year before?

No, it was obviously easy for Rupp considering how easily he won. So yes, even for Rupp it was easy.
And no, it's not always solely about winning. You need to win with an honest effort also.
I do not agree with you wrote:

That race between him and McDougal was way better even though he lost. Perhaps my memory is fuzzy though on how each of those races played out though. Was a while ago.
thanks for the report Kiopuysyt!
do you have photos????
Hasay is on a Mission. It should be interesting next week. She will leave it on the course, being her last collegiate year and coming so close the past two years. As a top high school runner, I would not want to run against this gal next week, believe me. Wow, can't wait for the race. Too many great girls running.
OMG , its true , Hollander makes the cover of T & F News and looses.
The cover curse strikes again !

Here we go again: the tired old "he didn't win it like a man" refrain. Rupp did what he did and won, and the best man won that day.

Don't be so sure about this. Rupp had red-shirted and was a year older/better.
While I want JH to win, let's just wait and see if she does. I don't think she has had quite the advantages that Rupp had, such as continuity of coaching for 9 years and a red shirt year...
Not so fast! was in Spring Field and the two girls Betsy and Tuliamuk were flying. They crossed the 3k mark at 10.40 that basically means Betsy ran the last 3k in 9.11 in not very ideal conditions. Lets see what happens in 7days.
