They already have a cover story on Yahoo. These two girls, especially the older one Kaytlynn, are tearing up the youth running scene. Read these two articles:
They are competing with much older runners and doing great. I read the Yahoo article and was very impressed. But the Yahoo article doesn't go into detail like the NY Times article. The dad is absolutely crazy!
It is one thing to support your children in racing. I have no problem with these girls running races at their age. However, the dad is putting way too much pressure on these girls. They aren't even in high school yet! Or middle school! If he lets them gradually progress into high school cross country, I think they can become all-time greats. But I think he is over-working them and they may burn out before they even get to high school.
What do you think? Will they make history as being one of the best ever? Or will the racing at such a young age cause them to burn out?
