Besides Flo Jo's 100m,200m and Daniel Komen's 3000m. What are other records that will never be broken??
Thoughts?

My schools 2.5 mile xc record will never be broken.
they will all be broken the question is when. look at the 4 x 100 women they completely smashed a 27 year old record.
Your 2.5 mile record can easily be broken if properly timed enroute during a 5k.

I only agree with this because el Guerrouj retired.
womans 400m. 47.60
don't know if they still run it. the indoor distance medley
Womens 10,000m, 1500m... pretty much any record that is by doped up chinese woman

6.15 is safe for the next 30 years
47.60 is safe until massive steroid use is legal again
So is 86.74
1:53.28, women's 800, nobody even comes close anymore
of all of those, 6.14/6.15 is the most unreachable
And yet there he was, on the Olympic stage. On the IAAF Council and some OC.
Can Rocky pole vault?
A couple records that nobody comes close to (not distance records)
Kevin Young 46.78
Sergei Bubka 6.14m

Jelimo ran 1:54.01 in 2008.
That's recent and fairly close.
Interesting that I recall articles written years ago that said that women were progressing so much faster than men that they may run as fast as men some day, at least in the distances.
That progression surely fell.
8:06.11
nevermind that it's equivilent to a sub-14 minute 5k, the event isn't run enough for current athletes to take the event seriously.
1:53 is one of the few records I'd actually consider breakable - Jelimo has come within 0.8 of it. A female equivilent of David Rudisha would run sub 1:54.
On the women's side, I consider 12.21 (barely),52.34, 2.09, 1:53 (would need a rudisha-esque talent) 8:58, 14:11 and 29:31 (with good pacing) breakable. Most other track records, not so much.
As for jumps, 15.50, tough as it is, is definitely achievable; 7.52 on the face of it seems insurmountable, yet women frequently get closer to this mark then men do to 8.95. If Brittany Reese nails a perfect jump, there is no reason whatsoever why she couldn't jump 7.40+
Obviously the newer womens throw events are achievable and the older throw events on the other hand the least achievable of all records. 22.63? LOL to that.

I doubt that.
It seems to me that a majority of the women's current WR's are not going to be broken anytime soon. That 4x100 meter record was broken, but it was a team effort, something that the "doped to the gills" East German were not as skilled at. The following records will not be broken:
1. 10.49 100m. Flo Jo was doped to the gills & it was also wind aided. This is probably the record that has no chance to ever be broken.
2. 200m - 21.34. This one will be extremely difficult if not impossible to beat. In this day & age, you can't be doped up like Flo Jo was, so it is going to be hard to get to this level. A small chance this gets broken, but not by anyone currently running.
3. 47.60 - 400m. I have no idea why this record is still in the books. Documents were recovered that clearly implicated Marita Koch for doping & that should be enough to strike this record. Koch was doped to the gills &, again, nobody will be able to do that again. No chance this record ever gets broken.
4. 1:53.28 by Kratochvilova. Again - she was on so many drugs she was basically a man. The fact that anyone has come this close to the WR is alarming. Anyone who approaches that record will either have to be a man; or have to be on so many drugs that they will get busted. Again - not in our lifetime & why this record is not stricken from the books is beyond me.
5. 10,000m - 29:31. The chinese were so drugged up again that it was not even funny. Also this was set in China. There is no way anyone runs anywhere close to this time in our lifetime. Another record out of reach.
Those seem the ones that are the most out there. All 5 need to be stricken from the record books. Even athletes don't pay attention to these 5 WR's as they are unattainable.
This one gets tied every 4 years...

I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
