that was probably the most brilliant feint i've ever seen in all of track and field and soooo risky with 50 to go. won't happen again, though.

brilliant. but, the reason i don't like rupp, and the reason many others don't. what's with the narrowed eyes, the elbows, the puffed chest / pumping, and the turning around and yelling? rupp, what are you? justin gatlin, carmaleta jeter? rupp is straight up classless!

Led the last 400 until lagat passed him with 100 to go and then came back 50m to go to outkick him

Gotta confess a twinge of sadness to see such a legendary record as Pre's go down. I mean, yeah he's been dead now for 35+ years, but there's a finality to it now.

But hell, props to Rupp. I confess I had my doubts about him in the past, but the dude has done some nice training. If he trains smart and races smarter, he just might have a shot at a medal. I hope he does well!

rupp and lagat side by side at the bell, rupp takes it alone till the 200. lagat makes his move and completes the pass coming down the straight starts to pull on rupp who doesn't back off and throws it down gets him 5 meters before the line. 52 last lap i think.
