To confirm the selection criteria, AK ruled to enter top three finishers in the spirit of Oregon men 10000m Trial and the women 10000m selection race in Nairobi on June 15. That is why we have the likes of Timothy Kitum, WYC bronze, Anthony Chemut, AJC gold, Faith Chepng'etich WYC gold in the squad at the expense of established runners eg Alfred Kirwa, Nancy Langat, Eliud Kipchoge, Paul Kipsiele not on the team. Wildcard entry was discarded for London 2012.

Also from reading that article, it looks like there are no Kenyan wild-cards this year. Can someone confirm that?
If that's the case they Kosencha in the 800 and Paul Kipsiele Koech in the steeple are out.
Sometimes, the 2 +1 format for the Trials seems like a good one to me but then it I realize it would kill the race for the fans and become so political.
But in the case of Koech, who clearly just can't run at altitude, I feel bad.
