Congrats Alan.
Nice race.

Good thing the trials are not tonight.
Um, you do know that the Trials weren't tonight, right?
Dude, you do realize he's dropped about 16 seconds in the last month. He is still getting race sharp. Give him another month and let's see how he's doing before being too critical.

I'm not bashing Webb. It's the best race in two years for him...
But don't forget how difficult is to make 1-2-3 at US trials.
However...in a tactical race Webb didn't show signs of raw speed yet.
So the point is: He's in good direction at least.
Sick progression from Webb in the 1500 this year. Knocking 3/4 seconds off his time whenever he steps on a track.
I look forward to his sub 3:30 come the end of the summer.
Anyone know what his splits were? That might tell more of a story than his finishing time. Did he run even? Did he fade? How did he finish?
"...in a tactical race..."(*)
(*)highly probable at trials.
If he gets back down to 3:30, he will dust the Olympic field. It's not a particularly strong field this year.

What is this obsession with Webb? He has no chance at medal, everyone knows this. Forget him. New Norwegian National record in second place. The guy is 21 and crushes Webb. Webb is done.
@Bullet, I can't tell you his splits but he did lead for about 400m and then slowly fell to the back of the pack and then attempted to close the gap that formed by the last 100.
HE'S GETTING FASTER AND FASTER. Honestly he did look a lot better than he did last month, if he keeps improving, watch out!!
That's faster than German Fernandez has ever run in his life.

Not true at all.
You have Asbel Kiprop (good at tactical races now), Silas Kiplagat, Matt Centrowitz, Laalou, Caleb Ndiku, Nick Willis, Baddeley, Gebremedhin, Kaki if he shows...etc. Even Manzano or Wheating...

Webb is now rabbitting a heat of the 5000 - impressive. He is trying to get tough by racing a lot

Damn, I like this.
"Did we... just get duped? We were told Alan Webb was pacing!"
Runs 13:50ish? Under 13:50? Not sure, they mentioned it off hand after the race had ended.
