Hell of a race. Farah, Kipsiro, and Bekele also likely sub 8:10.

Kipchoge destroyed them all over the last lap! He could have break the world record if he wanted to...
He will win gold in London!
Mark my words!
Eliud is BACK!
Kipchoge, what an amazing career! Always in very good shape for so many years in a row!

That is awesome. Kipchoge is one of my favorite runners, always strong. Now maybe he has his kick back again.

He did look strong the last lap, but I'm going to have to disagree that he could have break the world record...
That was a great race. Kipchoge looked great.
This is February. Doesn't mean too much. Eliud ran 12:51 2 years ago to open the season outdoors and didn't run faster.
Plus, he's got other people to worry about.
Last week he was only 4th in the stacked 3k in Germany:
Here are those results. So this won't even get him on the world indoor team
1. Augustine Kiprono CHOGE KEN 87 7:29.94 1266 WL
2. Edwin Cheruiyot SOI KEN 86 7:29.94 1266 WL, PB

Butt he mite. Ewe just never no.
Is this the best indoor 2 mile ever run in terms of depth? 4 guys under 8:10 is pretty sick.
I've never heard of the German guy Gabius but 8:10 is serious running.
Arne Gabius has been a perennial 13:30 guy until this week. The new Sergio Sanchez, I guess.
7:29=8:07 so right now you've got 4-6 guys in a scrum at that level, and I would throw Rupp, Lagat and Bekele in there as well at some point. It's a long way to the 5000m final....

I seriously wish Rupp could have been in this race instead. He may not have run any faster...but he definitely would have had some serious competition. Hopefully Mo was right and this will fire up Rupp.

They said he was trying to run 7:50 for 3k and qualify for world champs so he just jogged the last lap.
They never said if he got the time or not. Since they didn't mention it i'm guessing he didn't?
Gabius has been floating around 13:30 for years now, and recently switched from being coached by Dieter Baumann to coaching himself. He also finished med-school in October last year and has been focusing solely on running since then.
He mixed up his training, reduced workout load and added tons of runs at high-end aerobic pace (before he used to take it easy on most of his runs and only cared about pace in the workouts). He also incorporated strength-oriented circuits into his training.
He is a good guy and its great to see him run well after years of struggling to break 13:25.
You can look at his training here:

For example the 4 weeks (3 of those at altitude in Kenya) before the race in Dusseldorf
