I thought that was confirmed before. Or at least I recall a thread weeks back saying people should expect Bekele to be in WCs.
What I want to know is if he is running any races before Worlds. Is he just going to show up at the starting line at Daegu?
he will try to avoid any testing, so small meets perhaps?
If he doesn't go for the double, I am declaring him washed up. He's basically admitting that he isn't as good as Rupp if he only runs the 10. He may as well just continue pretending to be injured. The humiliation will not be worth it.
mr?
The race for silver should be fun then.
Am still expecting an 'unfortunate leg injury' to rule him out. If he's fit and healthy why not run a race?

Correct if I'm wrong but didn't bekele lap Rupp in a race before.
Does he need a qualifying time? Or is he exempted from that requirement as defending champion?
Hope Farah tears him a new one.
Depends on whether Hermans can get the 'training' right really.

They don't just test at meets.
IAAF tests randomly throughout the year.
Chris Lukezic was tested nearly a year after he retired.
I figure he would want to do some racing before Worlds to prepare. Going two years without a race and lining up in WC final could be tough.
(He automatically qualifies as defending champ)
I don't think Rupp got lapped in the 2008 Olympics. I remember thinking at the time that it was all I really wanted to see. I think he did it. I know he wasn't lapped in 09'. He probably was in 07' though.
I personally don't think he will run. 2 years gone, no race before the worlds, doubtful. I think he is better off training through the year, then coming back for London 2012 and then retiring or moving up to the Marathon.
Retire?! Why?
How many people in the last 10 years have run faster than his 26:17 suggested TEMPO pace?

bekele has never given us any reason to doubt that if he's at a championship, opponents will reconsider their career choice. he's never lost a 10k. never.
until he does, he's the favorite.

Defending champs get an automatic entry. No qualifier needed.
I just can't wait to see neck to neck battle between Keninisa and Tadese.
KB will kill Tadessi as well as Moh Fara. Galan Rup might get a bronze. Also watch out for Silini.
Maybe. I wouldn't be surprised either if Teg nails him from behind. Or if he just drops out before or during the race. To not run any race before Worlds suggests something is not right.

I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
