What a dirty racer, Foster has to hurdle the two in front of him and get's DQ'd? Voting hassan for DFL in the final, that was a disgrace.
DNF in the prelim? don't you have to at least finish
What are you talking about...Hassan was right at the front and obviously was tripped/pushed down. If anyone should ever be passed along to a fina, Hassan is it. Look for him to do big things in the final!
This is a disgrace. Would anyone get their runner advanced if it wasn't Arizona? Farovitism and cronyism rears its ugly head again. The Az coach whines, so they give him his way. The other coaches are furious that he is given another free ride to the final.
i agree hassan should be DQed. he freaked out with 400m to go and tried to pass at the start of the curve (amateur move) he had plenty of time left plus was in contact with the leaders. way to cause Foster to have the worst day of his life.

You mean Hassan cut in front of Foster. Meaning Hassan should be DQed since, according to the rule book, you have to have a full stride before passing. There was no push from Foster. Hassan should be out.

Do you mean to say that the guy who fell and didn't finish got into the final but the two guys who did finish didn't get into the final??
Yes that's exactly what he means to say. Just look at the video...Foster didn't even change his stride until Abdi got tripped up (his own fault for trying to come outside when he clearly had no space). Not only did he trip himself up racing like he'd never been on a track before, he didn't even has the balls to finish the race and somehow gets another shot on Saturday. It's a real shame for Ryan Foster, the kid has been the most consistent racer on the big stage that the Penn State squad has with multiple All-Americans and Big Ten titles and suddenly his career with PSU is over. If people have this kind of video it's ridiculous to me that the officials have to rely on his word vs. his word bull sh*t and make a call on who to advance because Arizona decided to whine the loudest.
It's an absolute disgrace that Foster's career will be ended with a DQ. While falls are part of the race the right thing to do would have been to either advance all or none. Thank god that there is a clear video to show this to stop the conspiracy theories. It's a poor system that requires officials to make judgement calls in falls like this as they are not allowed to use any other footage than the official meet footage that in this case was inadequate. The worst thing is that of the three Foster is the only senior. While Wassinger and Hassan get another chance Saturday and next year, his career is done. Hopefully he gets an opportunity to continue running after college as he has a big future moving up permanently from the 800m.
Quit your whining. I downloaded the video and watched it frame by frame. The referees got it right. Foster caused the collision and Hassan and Wasinger were correctly advanced.
Abdi stepped out into Foster's path. He's my Seattle homeboy but he F---ed up this one, except by staying down and getting the call to advance.
abdi clearly did not have a stride on foster to make the legal pass. I'm not as mad as Abdi as I am at the ruling. Foster should be in the final.
If you slow the video down, you can see some grains of pollen attack Hassan's leg. As usual, pollen is the culprit.
Malmo, why are you always hating on Penn State and Foster? Leftover bitterness about Sullivan getting the job?

no way malmo I'm sorry but thats a textbook DQ on Hassan. I wouldn't actually mind it being a no call since there was nothing militous and it was mostly incidental. But if you make a call, it is definitly Abdi that pulls a DQ.
the only thing that really grinds my gears is that the officials succame to coaches' complaints

I'm hating Penn State and Foster? huh? You are freakin nuts.
Foster ran up Hassans butt and clipped him. He was rightfully DQ'd. It sucks. Take a deep breath and quick blaming everyone else for a correct call.
Foster needs to learn from his mistake and move on to better things.
Do you even notice Hassan looking to move out repeatedly? Check his intent, and then the resulting action which is him moving wide in to Foster's path. What in your infinite wisdom should Foster have done Malmo?
Intent? What the hell are you taking about? Hassan is clearly giving the guy in front of him space. Foster should have given Hassan space. He did not. He caused a collusion, and he is the only person responsible for not making it through to the final.
Duh, no brainer. Foster should have not run up the back of the guy in front of you.
You are obsessive. You have misplaced anger. Give it up. The judges clearly made the right decision.
You need to get some rest.
