You and Igy should both go and set a couple age-group course records. And congrats to Igy ... 40-plus years, and the record still stands. Amazing! That race almost made it on my schedule a couple times ... back in the 80s, and in 2001 when my wife and I opted for Big Sur instead. Maybe 2020 for me, too. I'll be 60 ...
Next year. But who knows, 2020 sounds good. Some of my college teammates did Avenue of the Giants back in the day, it was kind of exclusive back then and it filled up early so you had to plan well ahead. Been on my bucket list for almost 40 years. Don't do many road marathons (just 5 since turning 40), but have a few to go I guess.
Recovery week - 5 days of rest/active rest (2 doing nothing, 2 short cycling days, and 1 short hike) and I started running easy over the weekend (40 minutes and a little over 50 on Sunday). Will run easy this week and try to get back into the groove over the next several weeks. No big (important) races until late summer and fall, but have a couple 10Ks coming up next month just for kicks.
