This past week was "Week 17" of my 19-week marathon training "plan." I wanted to get one more 20-miler in, so I did that on Monday.
Then I revisited the Pfitizinger-Douglas marathon schedules for "Under 40 miles per week," and saw that it calls for a 14-miler two weeks before the marathon. I have a pleasant 15-mile loop, so I ran that this morning. First cool, low-humidity day in a long while. Felt good!
I never run two consecutive days, but this week managed four "running days." It was my highest one-week mileage in at least 13 years. Now it's TAPER TIME! Goal is 3:30 ... my plan is to start out right on pace and maintain 8 min miles to the half, and re-access at that point.

Wednesday: 5 miles untimed, with a couple miles at "perceived" LT-pace
Thursday: Off
Friday: 5 miles @ 7:11 per mile
Saturday: Off
