I believe Solinsky just placed 2nd to R. Brown with Batty in 3rd, in 3:35!!
THATS FASTER THAN WEBB HAS GONE IN LIKE HALF A DECADE, LOL.

Everyone on LR has been calling this since last may (almost a year).
Hold on now just because he can run 3:35 does not mean he can run a sub 2:30 last kilometer and outkick Imane Merga, Tariku Bekele, Eluid Kipchoge, Isiah Koech etc.
It just means that he if he wanted to could make the World team in a number of events ranging from the 1500 to the 10000
3:35! Maybe I'd be impressed if he was still in high school! Call me back when he runs 3:28.
His old PR, 3:37, came in 2007. It's been nearly 4 years and since then his 5k PR has come down 17 seconds. This is reasonable.
After 32 years, the stadium record for the 1500 has fallen...the fabled 1979 race when Steve Scott pulled away from Don Paige by running the 3rd 400 in 54 and finished in 40 to win in 3:36.4!!

Umm...what about that guy that outkicked him? Brown needs to get more props for his wins.
Where was Heath?
Heath dns. A little dinged up.
Macklin Chaffee, who finished 8th, went to same HS as Brown.
Brown 53.5 last q
chris 54.45 last q
Miles Batty - 3:36. Impressive. When the Pros made the move - he went with it. Casey on the other hand...
Great run for Brown and Solinsky, but my shocker of the night was definitely Duncan Phillips. That has to be a significant PR for him.
Was it just me, or did Solinsky look really, really thin (for him)? Losing a little bulk, perhaps?

Nope, he looked good.
His last lap was solid and strong, though not a huge kick in the final straight.
I called it then, but now am questioning an early peak. I hope I'm wrong.
Meh...26:59 on May 1, then 12:55 and 12:56 back to back in mid August. I think he has shown he can hold strong through a full season.
Solinsky meant business. He raced. You can see the confidence that he has gained over the last couple years. He's not the fastest kid on the block but he has learned to start his kick early. He made a strong move with 300 to go and held it as long as he could. I give this guy a lot of props. He is the new GREAT WHITE HOPE!
