Let's pretend for a second that I'm oblivious on a couple of things. I'm sure I'm going to make mistakes below. Then let me explain why Aron Taylor of XCNation.com is wrong and probably racist.
1) Lukas V. was Lithuanian when he broke the HS 5k record 2 years ago as a freshman. He was old for his grade, that's why he's graduating a year early (by choice.) He's white though, so instead of complaining, people wanted to know how soon he could be a US citizen. I think he is now though. Right? The article says "to put things in perspective Lukas V. was 17 years old when he won for the second time..." but he's REALLY a JUNIOR! He's just graduating early.
2) Edward Cheserek is a Kenyan. He broke the sophomore class record for 2-miles. He is old for his grade, but no one knows yet if he'll graduate early or if he's going to become a US citizen. But he's black, so Aron Taylor has a big problem with him breaking the records. The same crap happened with Solomon Haile when he broke the senior record a few years ago. Granted people were really upset that he was supposedly 20 years old and had been running/collecting money on the roads for a year or so.
3) They are NOT AMERICAN high school records. They are HIGH SCHOOL records! Edward C. is in high school, so he can break high school records! We don't keep records for American high school and foreign high school.
Isaiah Koech can't break the high school record if he runs the 2-mile at the Pre Classic BECAUSE HE'S NOT IN HIGH SCHOOL. Alan Webb broke the high school record because he went to high school while he broke the record! Idiot.
Brojos, I hope that you'll take this guy's link off the front page. His facts are crap and he's just spewing because he's pissed a black kid took a record away from a white kid.
