Women's race is easier to pick. I can't see Rowbury losing....
Pulling for Webb, though I doubt it will happen. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he beats one of the top names and is within two seconds winning. Manzano and Lagat have to be tired.
The smart money is on Amine Laalou.
is the complete list up yet? Who can be a dark horse?
Willis, this guy is getting into some fine shape and fast.
Lagat or Willis for the men, Uceny or Rowbury in the womens
I just dont see lagat having the turnover late in the race to hold off the faster kickers like manzano and willis. these two with A.L will fight for the win. webb will prolly finish close behind lagat for 5th, maybe nip him at the end but it depends on how close he is to him w/ 50m to go.
I'm really excited, I happen to be in Manhattan on Sunday and get to see the race.
If the race is slow and tactical, I see Lagat winning 49 times out of 50.
I think however, that if the race is fast and even, someone like Laalou could take it.
If the pace is faster but still tactical (people throwing surges midrace) It's anyone's game, because it's so easy to make a mistake and loose contact. And loosing contact in a mile road race is deadly. For this situation, I'd go with Willis, or Monzano.
Willis
He looked like he pulled away from the field easily in his last 1500m (3:35ish I believe. He's only getting faster while the others, as previously mentioned, have had a long season.
lagat is still out of their league

Plus a 1:46 800 a week or two before, he's definitely on the up swing. Hard to bet against Lagat though - 7:29 shape is pretty damn good. It all depends on how worn out Manzano and Lagat are from the long season, and how the pace plays out.
local TV coverage?
Mottram, no questions
Manzano
Laaloo
Willis
Lagat
Webb
Those are my totally biased, unresearched predictions. Grote would be proud.
Manzano is going to take it. He's in the best 1500 shape. If he wins, it'll be a huge breakthrough for him.
There is no way the race will be slow and tactical. No way at all.
Men's race has four possible winners...Laalou, Manzano, Willis, and Lagat...but I actually don't think Lagat at this time. It won't be Webb.
Rowbury and Uceny are the only possible women's winners. It'll probably be Rowbury.
Lagat... Haron Lagat, will improve on his 3:52 from last year and win.
Eleven years ago this race did not have "One" big name runner. The winning time was 4:05...glad to see it back on the map!
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
