Even though Jenny finished fourth, its a personal best (2:02.12). Her previous best was 2:02.56. Hard to fault someone for running a PR.

2:02 performance wise isn't anywhere close to her 3:59 PR though. OK, not great. She should be able to break 2:00 rather easily.
Its a 2 sec PR for Jenny
Someone please take the cowbell away from the child who's directly in front of the microphone on the runnerspace broadcast.

Are you kidding me? she is a distance runner, not a middle-distance runner, so 2.02(61's) is about right for her to run 4.00. It's not like she's a Suzy Favour - maybe that's why she does the steeple. This doesn't mean that she can't run faster, but the relationship would remain the same (2.00 equals a 3.56 or so).
Just because others (Pierce, etc.) can run this (sub.2.00 to run sub-4.00) doesn't mean that she can. They are or more on the M-D side, perhaps.

Thanks for pointing out that you're clueless about the sport in a number of ways.

What? 2:02/3:59 easily fits the 'same' mould if she is more stamina than speed, which Jenny is.

While she is more mid-distance based, you are wrong, and are the one showinng you are clueless. 202 is not on par with 3:59, even for a runner like Jenny....and this is to be EXPECTED. Jenny is not ready to run 3:59 right now, so it's not surprising she just went 2:02 in a race, that wasn't even very fast on top of it. You are the one who is clueless. If Jenny was ready to go 3:59 today, she would have gone faster in this 800.
Put Jenny in an 800 in a few months if she's peaking well and in as good or better shape than last year, she won't run a 2:02. She SHOULDN'T be running a time on par with 3:59 right now.
Did someone forget this was a 1500 and not a 1600?
this referring to 3:59
Anybody go to the meet? According to the schedule they spread out 4 events (7 races total) over a period of an hour and a half. I take it people were doing workouts after their races too? Strange format regardless...
Jenny is no better or worse than any of the other top American Mid Distance Runners. You will all see this to be true as the season unfolds.
She is a great runner, but will not dominate the likes of Rowbury or Pierce so I would stop putting such high hopes on this athletes.
Dominating at the collegiate level does not translate into dominating at the US and World Class level.

Pretty good race by Manzano!
